This page explains how to delete your Overthink This account (app developer: Saša Marić) and the data stored with it.
Option 1 — in the app
- Open Overthink This and go to the Profile tab.
- Scroll to Account and tap Delete account.
- Type the confirmation word and confirm.
Deletion happens immediately and cannot be undone.
Option 2 — by email
If you can't open the app, or you used it as a guest without signing in, email fizzythemusician@gmail.com from the Google address you signed in with, with the subject “Delete my Overthink This account”. Guests: include the display name you chose. We delete the account within 30 days and confirm by reply.
What is deleted
- Your profile: name, email address, profile picture, the optional “About you” details, preferences, level and streak data.
- Everything you wrote and everything generated for you: spirals, text checks, compatibility tests, folders and categories.
- Your community activity: posts, comments, likes, friends and blocks.
- Your sign-in sessions, push notification token and device fingerprint.
What is kept
- Safety records — if your account received a strike or a ban for breaking the Community Guidelines, the moderation log entry is kept for up to 24 months to prevent ban evasion and to handle appeals (Art. 17(3)(e) GDPR).
- Purchase records — Google Play and RevenueCat keep transaction records under their own policies, and we keep what tax law requires us to keep.
Subscriptions
Deleting your account does not cancel a Google Play subscription. Cancel it first in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions, otherwise Google will keep charging you.
Deleting some data without deleting the account
You can delete individual spirals, posts and comments inside the app at any time, and clear your “About you” details under Profile → About you. For anything else, or to request a copy of your data, email the address above. More detail is in the Privacy Policy.
